The Louisburg College baseball team swept the visiting Lackawanna Falcons this weekend.   LC remains undefeated at home and in all games played with an overall record of 7-0.

Game 1:
Louisburg 5  Lackawanna 4

On the mound and earning the win was Cody Johnson.  In the 2nd inning, Johnson came in to relieve Demetrus Ingram.  Johnson tossed six innings allowing 1 unearned run, 3 hits, and striking out 3 while walking just 1.

The Hurricanes trailed 3-0 entering the 2nd inning when they scored a single tally on a two out RBI triple by Augie Ayers that plated Tucker Coward closing the gap, 3-1

Lackawanna scored another run in the top of the third to make the score 4-1.  Then the Hurricanes, entering the home half of the 5th, scored on a Sac fly by Zach Houchins.

Louisburg took the lead for good scoring three times in the bottom of 6th inning when Jake Watson drew a bases loaded walk and Steve Nyisztor followed with a 2-run single.

Josh Roeder came out of the Hurricanes bullpen to get the final 4 outs of the ballgame and earn his third save in as many chances.

The 'Canes were led offensively by Augie Ayers, who went 2-4 with an RBI.

Game 2:
Louisburg 2  Lackawanna 1 (8 Innings)

In the first game of Saturday's double header, Louisburg trailed 1-0 and was down to their final out in the bottom of the 7th inning when Zach Houchins blasted a home run to deep left center field, tying the game.  Houchins home run was only the Hurricanes second hit of the ball game.

Cody Cox pitched a stellar game for the Hurricanes allowing only 1 earned run in 7 innings of work, allowing 5 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout.

After Cane reliever Josh Roeder set Lackawanna down in the top of the 8th inning, KyleMcCrossen got things going in the home half of the same inning with a lead-off single.  Ricky Schattauer entered the game to pinch run and was advanced to 2B on a Sac bunt by Augey Ayers.  Pinch hitter Tyler Long lined a single to center field to put men on the corners with one out.  Catcher Snooter Merryman laid down a perfectly executed safety squeeze to plate Schattauer with the game-winning run.

Josh Roeder picked up the win.  He is now 1-0 with three saves in the early going this season.

Louisburg was led offensively by Kyle McCrossen who was 2-3.

Game 3:
Louisburg 11  Lackawanna 0

The bats came alive for the Hurricanes in game 3 as they pounded out 17 hits in the final match up of the series.  But the real story was LHP Tony Urban who tossed a
no-hitter for Louisburg.  Urban threw 7 complete innings where he had 7K's and only 3 BB with 0 hits and 0 runs.

Offensively, the Hurricanes scored 2 in the first on the strength of a 2-run home run from Steve Nyisztor.  In the 2nd inning, 4 runs scored on 3-run home run from Jake Watson and an RBI single from Kyle McCrossen.  The bottom of the 4th, Zach Houchins had an RBI triple then was able to score on a throwing error on the play.  The 'Canes completed their scoring with 3 runs in the 5th on a sac fly by Marcus Wojtkowicz, an RBI single by Watson and an RBI ground out by Houchins.
