The Hurricane men jumped out to an early lead and went into the half up 43-25. Leading scorers, CJ Hill (18 points), Jamarcus Hairston (17 points), and Vinny Agee (10) kept the pressure on and extended the lead to 30 points going into the second half. From there the Canes used their smothering defense and clock management to secure the win.
"We're really happy to get back to Danville. Honestly, anything less would've been disappointing," said head coach Neil Dixon. "Today was easily our best defensive effort of the season. We really held a good Catawba Valley team in check."
"We will work like crazy this week to get ready for the National tournament," coach Dixon added. "It is not enough for us to just get there, we expect to make a run."
Next up for the Hurricanes is a road trip to Danville, IL for a run at the National Championship.
