Lady ‘Canes Drop Two Against Pitt CC
The Hurricane softball team dropped a pair of conference games Wednesday night as they were defeated 5-4 and 3-1 by Pitt CC. With the two Region X losses the 'Canes record drops to 19-12 overall, 9-11 in regional play and the two teams split their regular season series.
The Lady 'Canes led most of the way through game one but a three run rally by the Bulldogs, in the bottom of the seventh, led to the home side's win. Tyler Weil (Lagrangeville, NY) led the way at the plate, in the loss, as she went 2-4, with a double, a run scored and one RBI. Catcher, Sommer Di Fulgo (Virginia Beach, VA) also helped out with the bat as she went 1-2, with a walk, a run scored and one RBI.
Traci Bridgers (Goldsboro, NC) got the loss in the circle in game two. The frosh hurler gave up three runs, two earned, on eight hits. Bridgers also struck out five Bulldog batters. Jamie Hockaday had the only multi-hit effort in game two as she went 2-3, and she drove in the only Hurricane run.
