AIKEN, SC — The Louisburg College softball team wrapped up their 2013 season with a 7-1 loss to Aiken Tech College at the  Region X Tournament, Saturday afternoon. The 2^nd seeded Knights pitching proved to be too much for a 5^th seeded 'Canes softball team that only picked up a pair of hits in the season ending loss.

Rebecca Norwood (Norlina, NC/Southern Vance HS) got the start and took the loss in the playoff contest where she gave up five runs, two earned, on eight hits. Both Holly Gravitte (Hillsborough, NC/Cedar Ridge HS) and Emmylou Clark (San Manuel, AZ/San Manuel HS) made appearances out of the pen with Gravitte surrendering two runs on one hit, while Clark only allowed one hit in the game's final inning.

Both of Louisburg's hits came in the sixth inning as outfielder, Trina Bartlett (Greensboro, NC/Dudley HS) led things off with a double which was followed, two batters later, by a Morgan Tharrington (Youngsville, NC/Franklinton HS) RBI single.

For their efforts in the 2013 playoffs, both Norwood and Bartlett earned All-Tournament Team selections.

The Hurricanes close out 2013 with a final record of 23-20.
