Fastpitch News released their Preseason All-American roster on Wednesday and Sophomore middle infielder Monica Pepe was listed. Pepe was one of only fifteen softball players in all of Division I NJCAA softball to be named to the All-America Team.
"What an honor this is for Monica," said first year head coach Eric Lee. "She is the epitomy of hard work, humility and character coming together to make an outstanding softball player. We are fortunate to have her as a part of this program."
Pepe will lead the Hurricanes into 2018 on the heels of the most successful season in recent history. In 2017, Louisburg finished 35-8 and collected the Region X regular season and tournament championships before falling just short of Nationals in the District Championships to Snead State.
The Hurricanes start their season on February 3 when they'll meet Patrick Henry Community College at Sheilah R. Cotten Field.
