Congratulations to the 2012 Region X Tournament Champions, the Louisburg College Lady Hurricanes!

#1 Seed Louisburg College held on to defeat #2 Patrick Henry CC 72-63 behind a trio of point guard Lea Saunders who finished with a game high 19 points, and 9 rebounds to go with 8 assists, while Kelly McCaffity added 16 points and Jasmine Phillips added 15. Patrick Henry got 15 points from Victoya Ricks, while Eulandra Forrest added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Louisburg led most of the game, but a deep 3 from the Lady Patriots Serena Hall cut the lead to 2, at 62-60 with 2:06 to play. Hall would then sink two free throws to pull Patrick Henry even at 62. Over the final two minutes of the game, it was all Hurricanes as they finished the game on a 10-1 run behind Phillips and Saunders.

The Lady Hurricanes improved to 28-1 and an automatic birth in the National Tournament in East Peoria, Illinois. The National Tournament will begin March 20th.
