Bio
Bryan Bagwell joined the Louisburg College Women’s Basketball program in August of 2014 following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Mars Hill University.
Head coach Shay Hayes stated, “Coach Bagwell's energy and passion for the game fits the program's goals and our theme: Pursuit of Excellence. He will be a great role model and mentor for the players. Coach Bagwell's experience as a recruiting coordinator, academic coach, and as an on floor assistant coach will make him an asset to our program. I am excited about our team and future together."
At Mars Hill, while fostering a culture that emphasized growth both on and off the court, Bagwell coached the South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2014). Bagwell helped the Lions to two Second Team All-Conference Selections (2013,2014) and one All-SAC Freshman Team Selection (2013). In his four years at Mount Olive, Bagwell assisted in three Conference Carolinas regular season second place finishes (2009, 2011, 2012), and two Conference Carolinas Tournament runner-up finishes (2009, 2011).
While at Mount Olive, Bagwell was the recruiting coordinator and was responsible for skill development for both guards and post players. Bagwell coached two second-team All-Region selections (2009, 2011), the Conference Carolinas’ Player of the Year (2010-2011), and seven all-conference selections.
Bagwell also helped manage the team’s academic success at Mount Olive. One such student-athlete was a two-time CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District First Team (2010, 2011) and graduated Summa Cum Laude garnering the highest academic average at Mount Olive College in 2011.
Prior to Mount Olive, Bagwell served as assistant girl’s high school coach at North Johnston High School (2004-2008) and assistant men's high school coach at Western Guilford High School (2003-2004).
