Program History

Now in its eleventh year, the Louisburg College women's soccer program has grown steadily.  Under Head Coach Andy Stokes, the program aims to continue developing athletic excellence, ensuring player visibility by four-year schools, and maintaining the proud Hurricane tradition.

Louisburg College expects to continue attracting top student athletes to its women's soccer program as the program evolves into a fierce perennial contender. In the past few years, the women's soccer team has qualified for and excelled in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Region X Finals.

A rigorous schedule faces the Lady Hurricanes this season as they play competitive two-year and four-year institutions.  Home games are played at May Field. May Field, with it's hybrid Bermuda playing surface located at extreme west end of the campus, is considered to be among the best junior college fields in the Southeast.

The strength of the program is reflected in the fact that the players have consistently been recognized for their efforts on the field as well as in the classroom.  Each year our players receive All-Region and All-South honors, and the vast majority go on to play for four-year colleges and universities after graduating from Louisburg College.
