Lady 'Canes Finish Season 12-5-1

The Lady 'Canes soccer team lost 2-1 to Spartanburg Methodist in the Region X Semi-Finals. Iris Cruz put the Lady Canes up 1-0 early in the first half before the Lady Pioneer's equalized with a deflected shot four minutes before the end of the first half. The Lady 'Canes worked hard and out-shot Spartanburg 18 to 7, but were unable to capitalize on the many opportunities to score. With 15 minutes left, the Lady Pioneers scored the winning goal when a free kick was awarded from 20 yards out.

The Lady 'Canes finished a very successful season with a record of 12-5-1 overall and 10-3-1 in conference play. The team earned special honors this season including a National 13th place ranking, a spot in the Region X Semi-Finals and Forward Larie Bailey finished 23rd in the Nation for goals scored. Goalkeeper Teresa Langley posted a total of nine shutouts and the team scored a total of 65 goals for the season. Congratulations to the Lady 'Canes for a great season.
