Baseball Drops One at Lenoir
KINSTON, NC — The Louisburg College baseball team played a midweek single game at Lenoir CC where the Hurricanes were defeated 6-5 by the Lancers.
Tyler Holt (Raleigh, NC/Cary Academy) got the start but didn't figure in the decision where he gave up three runs on five hits. Left handed pitcher Daniel Batts (Knightdale, NC/Knightdale HS) took to the mound in relief where he gave up two runs and fanned four LCC hitters through three innings before giving way to Alex Ledford (Asheville, NC/Chattanooga State CC) who picked up the loss.
Louisburg outhit Lenoir 12-9 in the loss, with Pete Guy (Thomasville, NC/Ledford HS) leading the way with a 3-4 performance where he also knocked in three RBI. AJ Farris (Lawrenceville, GA/Marshall University) only had one hit on the day but it was long ball in his 1-4 performance.
The 11-4 Hurricanes will return home this weekend when they host Pitt CC for a conference weekend series. Saturday and Sunday's doubleheaders are scheduled to start at 1:00 pm on Frazier Field.
