LOUISBURG, NC — The Louisburg College baseball team split a conference doubleheader with USC Lancaster, Saturday afternoon, as the Lancers took game one, 4-2, but the Hurricanes answered back by dumping USCL, 9-0, in the night cap.

Joe McGillicuddy (Fairfax, VA/Marshall University) got the loss in game one as he gave up a three runs, two earned, on four hits. The righty also fanned seven Lancer hitters in the loss. John Allen (Creedmoor, NC/East Carolina University) went the distance in game two where he only allowed two hits in the shutout.

LC only had five hits in game one with Cedric Mullins (Snellville, GA/Brookwood HS) leading the way with a 1-3 performance and he knocked in one RBI. Mullins led the way again in game two as he went 3-4 and drove in two more RBI. Game two catcher Marcus Wojtkowicz (Owosso, MI/Owosso HS) went 1-2 at the plate and he made the best of his hit as he hit a two-run bomb.

The 20-9, 10-6 in Region X, Hurricanes will host the Lancers for another conference twin bill tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm at Frazier Field.
