Hurricanes Take Down Lenoir in Midweek Match Up

LOUISBURG, NC — The Louisburg College baseball team improved to 26-11 as they knocked off Lenoir CC, 3-2, in a midweek nonconference matchup, Wednesday night.

Zach McCormack (Marietta, GA/Sprayberry HS) got the start, where he went five innings deep in the nonconference contest. The sophomore gave up one unearned run, on three hits, and he fanned three Lancer hitters before giving way to Daniel Batts (Knightdale, NC/Knightdale HS) who threw two innings, setting things up for Alex Ledford (Asheville, NC/Chattanooga State CC) who earned the win out of the pen. Ledford only surrendered one hit in his 2.1 innings of work.

Bradley Morton (Winston Salem, NC/Mt. Tabor HS) led the way at the plate as he went 2-3 with a homerun, while catcher, Pete Guy (Thomasville, NC/Ledford HS) also knocked in an RBI as he went 1-3.

The Hurricanes will travel to USC Salkehatchie this weekend for their final conference series of the 2013 season. Both Saturday's and Sunday's doubleheaders are scheduled to start at 1:00 pm.
