LOUISBURG, NC –For the second time in 2012, Hurricanes kicker Ryan Samuels (Fredricksburg, VA) has been named Northeast Football Conference, Special Teams Player of the Week.

The freshman booted a pair of field goals in the Canes 27-3 win over Monroe College (Bronx, NY) including a 23 yard strike and 42 yard boot. Samuels also hit all three extra points to go along with five punts where he averaged 39.4 yards. Samuels also pinned the Mustangs inside their 20 on one of the punts.

The #15 Hurricanes have a bye this week but will return to Northeast Football Conference action on October 20^th when they host Hudson Valley CC. Kickoff is scheduled for noon, on the campus of Bunn High School.
