LOUISBURG, NC –Hurricanes kicker Ryan Samuels earned his third Northeast Football Conference, Special Teams Player of the Week for his play last week and now Jeffery Richardson will join him as he earned a Defensive Player of the Week nod.

Richardson, a 6-foot, 180-pound sophomore defensive back from Charlotte, NC, intercepted two passes, broke up two others and recorded seven tackles (5 solo/2 assists) in the Hurricanes' 30-0 win over Hudson Valley CC. Richardson returned the interceptions for 39 yards in addition to making a tackle for loss, a sack and causing a fumble.

The Hurricanes moved up one spot to #15 in this week's NJCAA poll and will travel to New York to take on #5 Nassau CC, who also moved up one spot, next Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for noon, in the Northeast Football Conference game.
