LOUISBURG, NC –Louisburg College defensive back, Jeff Richardson, picked up a national honor as he has been named NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week.

In the Hurricanes' 30-0 shutout of Hudson Valley CC, Richardson played a big role in holding HVCC to 66 total yards of passing. In the conference win, the sophomore from Charlotte, NC (Rock Hill HS) made seven tackles, a sack and picked off two Viking's passes. Richardson took both picks to the end zone but saw both of them called back due to penalties during the return.

The Hurricanes moved up one spot to #15 in this week's NJCAA poll and will travel to New York to take on #5 Nassau CC, on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for noon, in the Northeast Football Conference game.
