LOUISBURG, NC – The #1 Louisburg College men's basketball team was taken to task Saturday afternoon as it took overtime for them to earn a, 96-90, conference win over Catawba Valley CC.

The Hurricanes led most of the way through the first half and a pair of threes late gave them a 44-39 lead going into the break. The Buccaneers had a strong second half as they outscored LC, 43-38, sending the game into OT. The extra period was full of back and forth action but the 'Canes held strong in the final 35 seconds causing a CVCC turnover and hitting four straight free throws. Antonio Robinson (Winston Salem, NC/Parkland HS) hit the free throws and led the Hurricanes with a 20 point, six rebound, six assist performance.

Kevin Williams (Franklinton, NC/Franklinton HS) also filled up the bucket as he scored 16 points and pulled down six boards. The guard's biggest basket came with 2.1 seconds in regulation, tying the score at 82-82 and sending the game into overtime. Paul Stone (Danville, VA/Dan River HS) also hit a clutch shot, sinking a three pointer in overtime. The sophomore guard scored 14 total points in the conference win.

The 20-0, 8-0 in Region X, Hurricanes will play another game in the Taylor Center on Wednesday when they host Wake Tech CC. Opening tip in the Region X game is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
