#2 Hurricanes Run Away From RCC
LOUISBURG, NC – The #2 Louisburg College men's basketball team improved their conference record to 16-1, 25-1 overall, with an 82-56 win over Rockingham CC, Saturday afternoon.
The Hurricanes did a great job on defense in the first half as they limited the Eagles to 23 total points all while scoring 37 of their own. The 'Canes gave up a few more points in the second half but they also upped their offense outscoring RCC, 45-33, in the second period.
LC forward, Terence Christian (Albemarle, NC/Albemarle HS) led the way with a double-double as he scored 17 points and pulled down 13 boards. Guard, Micah Parker (Woodbridge, VA/Hylton HS) also scored 17 in the conference win.
Kevin Williams (Franklinton, NC/Franklinton HS) came up big in the weekend win as he had 12 points and dished out five assists. The point guard made a big difference under his own hoop as he led all players with five blocks.
The Hurricanes will play another home conference game on Wednesday when they host Guilford Tech CC in the Taylor Center. Opening tip is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
