Men's Soccer Shuts Out Lancaster
LANCASTER, SC — The Louisburg College men's soccer team earned a road win, Wednesday afternoon, as they defeated USC Lancaster 6-0 in a Region X contest.
Brian Howard (Roanoke Rapids, NC/ Roanoke Rapids HS) earned the shutout in net where he made two saves. The shutout is his fifth of the season.
Adrian Gonzales (Fuquay Varina, NC/Fuquay Varina HS) got the Canes on the board as he scored on a goal that was set up by Nikolai Hammer (Clearwater, FL/Countryside HS). Hammer scored the second Louisburg goal when Gonzales returned the favor, picking up the assists. Gonzales scored two more goals, both of which came in the first half.
Zach Shriver (Clearwater, FL/Countryside HS) scored the Hurricanes' fifth goal which came in the second half, and again Gonzales got in on the act as he picked up the assist. Fraz Bass (Leeds, England/Whitcliffe Mount HS) scored the final goal of the game, with Hammer earning the assist.
The 7-6-1, 7-4-1 in Region X, Hurricanes will play their final home game of the 2013 regular season on Saturday when they host USC Salkehatchie at May Field. Opening kick is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
