Hurricanes Earn Another Shutout

LOUISBURG, NC — The Louisburg College men's soccer team picked up their second shut out on the week as they blanked USC Salkehatchie, 5-0, Saturday afternoon. The win ups the Hurricanes overall record to 8-6-1 (8-4-1 in Region X).

 

Louisburg placed 12 shots on goal with five going in the net. Ostin Salmeron (Silver Springs, MD/Bethesda Chevy Chase HS) got the scoring started as he finished a play that was set up by Adrian Gonzales (Fuquay Varina, NC/Fuquay Varina HS). Gonzales also picked up an assist on the game's final goal, scored by Ramzey Hassen (Reston, VA/Gar-Field HS).

 

Bakawasu Kinteh (Duluth, GA/Lambert HS), Justin Burrell (Ashburn, VA/Broad Run HS) and Nikolai Hammer (Clearwater, FL/Countryside HS) all found the back of the net in the conference win, with Andreas Chrysostomou (Como, NC/Ridgecroft HS) assisting on a pair of the goals.

 

Brian Howard (Roanoke Rapids, NC/ Roanoke Rapids HS) earned his sixth shutout of the season but the LC Keeper wasn't very busy as he only faced four Indian shots.

 

The Hurricanes will play their final regular season game of the 2013 campaign tomorrow when they travel to Richard Bland College. Opening kick in Petersburg, VA is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
