LOUISBURG, NC — The Lady Canes softball team was defeated in both ends of a conference doubleheader, Wednesday night, as Pitt CC bested the Canes 6-0 and 13-4 at Cotton Field.  

Megon Smith (Garland, NC/Union HS) took the loss in game one and Jennifer Allison (Denver, NC/East Lincoln HS) suffered the defeat in game two. Rebecca Norwood (Norlina, NC/Southern Vance HS) closed both games where she went unharmed through .2 innings of work in the opener but gave up six runs, three earned, on six hits in game two's 2.1 innings of work.

Louisburg only got four hits in game one where they were shutout but they got a little more offense in game two as Allison and Erika Hardy (Northampton, VA/Bethel HS) each went 2-3, while Megan Johnson (Roanoke Rapids, NC/Roanioke Rapids HS) went 2-4.  

The 17-13 Lady Canes will have another tough test this weekend as they travel to Spartanburg Methodist (23-12) for a four-game weekend series.
