LOUISBURG, NC — The Lady Canes softball team will host the 2014 Region X Championship and they will take on USC Salkehatchie in the double-elimination tournament's opening game this Friday. The two teams battled through bad weather and only played once this season with LC coming out on top, 5-2. The winner will advance to a Saturday morning matchup with top seeded Pitt CC.

All games in the 2014 championship tournament will be played at Cotten Field, on the campus of Louisburg College. Friday's action will start at 10:30 am, as will Saturday's full slate of games. Sunday's championship game is scheduled for noon, with the winner advancing to the 2014 NJCAA National Tournament in St. George, Utah.
