WILMINGTON, NC – The #1 Louisburg College women's basketball team bounced back from their only conference loss with an offensive gem as they defeated Cape Fear CC, 97-72, Monday night. The road win ups the Lady 'Canes Region X record at 9-1, 21-2 overall.

The Lady 'Canes outscored the Sea Devils 43-29 in the first half and both teams picked up the offensive pace in the second period with LC again outscoring CFCC, 54-43. Olivia Gaines (Chester, SC/Chester HS) led the way for Louisburg as she scored 22 points on 10-19 shooting. The guard also pulled down seven rebounds. Forward, Latrice Phelps (Virginia Beach, VA/Tallwood HS) had a good offensive day as she earned a double-double scoring 17 points and swiping 11 boards.

Jazmine Parker (Burlington, NC/Oak Ridge Military) and Justin Taylor (Gastonia, NC/Ashbrook HS) also put up double-digits in the conference win as Parker scored 13, while Taylor scored 12.

The Hurricanes will return to the court for another road conference game on Thursday when they travel to Guilford Tech CC. The Region X game in Jamestown is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm.
