MARTINSVILLE, VA — The #2 seeded Lady 'Canes women's basketball team will move on to the 2013 Region X Tournament championship game as they knocked off #3 seed Lenoir CC, 81-59, Saturday afternoon.

Guard's, Olivia Gaines (Chester, SC/Chester HS) and Justin Taylor (Gastonia, NC/Ashbrook HS) led the way for LC as Gaines scored 18 points, while Taylor chipped in with 15 on 5-8 shooting, 3-4 from beyond the arc. Tiffany Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Prep Charter) was the other Hurricane with a double-digit effort as she scored 12 on 5-10 shooting.

With the semifinal win the Lady 'Canes advance to play #1 seeded Catawba Valley CC, Sunday at 1:00 pm. CVCC was the only team to defeat the 27-3 Hurricanes in conference play as the Lady Bucs won 75-70 in overtime and 78-75 in the regular season finale.

The winner will advance to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament in East Peoria, IL.
