Lady Canes Play On at NJCAA Tournament

OVERLAND PARK, KS —The Louisburg College women's basketball team earned an 84-65 win at the NJCAA Championship Tournament, Wednesday afternoon, as the #6 Canes defeated #14 North Central Missouri College. NCMC jumped out to an early lead but LC bounced back taking a lead of their own, midway through the first frame. The Canes speed was too much for the Lady Pirates as Louisburg coasted to the 19 point win

Sophomore guards, Brehanna Daniels (Virginia Beach, VA/Salem HS) and Kiara Rawls (Killeen, TX/Shoemaker HS) led all scorers as they each dropped 21 in the tournament win. Daniels shot 9-14 from the field while Rawls went 9-17. Courtney Raiford (Greenwood, SC/Greenwood HS) also had a great effort as she earned a double-double, scoring 11 points and dishing out ten assists.

The Lady Canes will get a much needed day off tomorrow, then return to the court at 12:00 pm eastern on Friday, where they will play the winner of #7 Lake Michigan College (Michigan) and #15 Essex County College (New Jersey) who play at 10:00 am tomorrow.
