SUPPLY -- Louisburg College used a strong second half to claw back and defeat host Brunswick Community College last Saturday (Feb. 2) in Region X women's basketball action.
LC trailed 35-27 at halftime but recovered with a strong 28-18 spurt in the third quarter.
Three players reached double figures in scoring for Coach Shay Hayes' Lady Canes, led by Harmony Davidson with 17 points to go with four rebounds and four assists. Dasia Gillard (10 rebounds, seven points) and Monique Jones (12 points and nine boards) also made key contributions for LC, which improved to 18-4 overall heading into the final six contests of the regular season.
"This was a huge game for us,'' Hayes said. "As are the remaining six games. It was a defensive battle for the team. We had to get some stops in the last three minutes to seal the win.''
The Lady Hurricanes will remain on the road Wednesday (Feb. 6) at Guilford Tech before returning home Saturday (Feb. 9) to entertain Clinton College at Taylor Center on the LC campus. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
