LOUISBURG, NC – The Louisburg College women's soccer team opened up the 2012 Region X Tournament with a convincing, 5-0, win over Wake Tech CC, Tuesday afternoon.

LC forward, Jessica Scales (Roanoke Rapids, NC) is one of the nation's top scorers and she showed her stuff in the playoff win as she scored four of the Lady 'Canes goals. Larie Bailey (Charlotte, NC) scored the Hurricanes final goal.

"This was a big tournament win," said head coach Andy Stokes. "It is hard to beat any team three times in one season so this gives us great momentum heading into our next match."

The Hurricanes will now play tournament hosts Spartanburg Methodist College, in their Region X Tournament semifinal, on Saturday. The playoff game is scheduled to start at 3:00 pm in Spartanburg, SC.
