SPARTANBURG, SC – The Louisburg College women's soccer team advanced to the Region X Tournament championship game as they went the distance, head to head, with Spartanburg Methodist College, Saturday afternoon.

Neither team found the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of play, leaving the score knotted at 0-0 going into the half. LC forward, Jessica Scales (Roanoke Rapids, NC) opened up the second half with a goal that was answered by SMC, setting the score at 1-1 after regulation. The two teams played a pair of scoreless overtime periods which led to the game deciding penalty kicks.

Allison Bell (Creedmoor, NC) put the Lady 'Canes on her back through the penalty kicks as she made two saves that were the difference (4-2) in the semifinal match.

The Hurricanes will take on top seeded Cape Fear CC in the championship game which is scheduled for 12:30 tomorrow in Spartanburg, SC.
