LELAND, NC — The Louisburg College volleyball team won a road Region X match 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-14), Monday night, as they defeated Brunswick CC.

Deborrah Bennett (Mt. Olive, NC/Southern Wayne HS) led the way in the conference win as she had 11 kills, eight digs and three aces. Corey Watford (Blounts Creek, NC/Southside HS) also put in a solid two-way effort as she made seven digs and served a pair of aces. Ellen TooToo (Wilmington, NC/Hoggard HS) set up the Bennett kills, and more, as she made 32 total assists. The frosh setter also helped out on D with five digs.

Libero, Ashley Johnson (Wilson, NC/Wilson Hunt HS) led the team defense as she made ten digs, to go along with her perfect service reception play. Ashley Britton (Henrico, NC/ Brunswick Academy) was also a defensive standout as she made four of the team's 12 blocks.

The 6-7, 5-6 in Region X, Lady Canes will play another road Region X match on Thursday when they travel to Pitt CC. Opening serve in Winterville, NC is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
