WILMINGTON, NC — The Lady Canes volleyball team tried to make it four in-a-row, Saturday afternoon, but they fell 3-0 to Cape Fear CC in a Region X match.

Setter, Ellen TooToo (Wilmington, NC/Hoggard HS) had a solid night as she made 21 assists in the conference loss. Deborrah Bennett (Mt. Olive, NC/Southern Wayne HS) and Jasmine Phillips (Hartville, SC/Hartsville HS) took advantage of TooToo's sets as Bennet led the Canes with seven kills while Phillips had five.

Libero, Ashley Johnson (Wilson, NC/Wilson Hunt HS) led the defensive effort with  16 digs which was ahead of Bennett's ten digs.

The 6-9, 5-8 in Region X, Lady Canes will play their final home game of the season on Wednesday when they host Wake Tech CC in the Taylor Center. Opening serve in the Region X match is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
