Baseball Powers Past Wake Tech in 16–8 Midweek Win

The Louisburg College baseball team continued its offensive momentum Wednesday afternoon, defeating Wake Technical Community College 16–8 at Frazier Field.

Despite falling behind early, the Hurricanes responded immediately and never let up, scoring in five different innings and finishing with 16 runs on 13 hits.

Wake Tech jumped out to a 3–0 lead in the first inning, but Louisburg answered right away. Connor Wright tied the game with a three-run home run, igniting a five-run first inning that put the Hurricanes in front for good.

Louisburg continued to build its lead in the second and third innings. Camden Wilson and Payten Shipman each drove in runs in the second, and the Hurricanes broke the game open further in the third.

With the bases loaded, Jace Dunn delivered a three-run double, stretching the lead to 10–5 and giving Louisburg full control of the game.

Anthony Dorner came on in relief and closed the door over the final 1.1 innings, helping secure the win and limit any late comeback attempt.

Closing It Out
