Hurricanes Take Series Over Patrick & Henry

The Louisburg College baseball team picked up a strong weekend series win over Patrick & Henry Community College at Frazier Field, winning two of three games behind explosive offensive performances and timely hitting throughout the lineup.

Game 1 – Patrick & Henry 11, Louisburg 10

The series opener turned into a back-and-forth battle that came down to the final inning.

Louisburg erased an early deficit with a big five-run fourth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Brady Paul and a three-RBI day from Reese File, who delivered in multiple key situations.

Graham Wike added two hits and two RBI, while Jace Dunn chipped in two hits and a run driven in. Steven Laurence scored three runs as the Hurricanes continued to apply pressure offensively.

Despite the comeback effort, Patrick & Henry pushed across three late runs in the eighth and ninth innings. Louisburg rallied in the ninth, cutting the deficit to one, but came up just short in the 11–10 loss.

Game 2 – Louisburg 12, Patrick & Henry 2

The Hurricanes bounced back in a big way in game two, dominating from start to finish in a 12–2 victory.

Louisburg jumped out early with three runs in the second inning and broke the game open with a four-run fourth.

Jace Dunn led the charge with a home run and three RBI, while Clifton Olmedo added a home run and three RBI of his own. Connor Wright contributed a two-run homer, and Brady Paul added two hits and two RBI.

On the mound, Henry Good delivered a complete game performance, allowing just three hits and two runs while working around five walks to keep Patrick & Henry off balance.

Game 3 – Louisburg 16, Patrick & Henry 11

The series finale featured another high-scoring affair, but this time the Hurricanes made the decisive late push.

After Patrick & Henry jumped out to a 4–0 lead in the first inning, Louisburg responded immediately, scoring four runs in the bottom half to tie the game.

The Hurricanes took control with a three-run second inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from Jace Dunn, and added another run in the third on a solo shot from Troy Daniels.

Patrick & Henry battled back to tie the game at 10–10 in the eighth inning, but Louisburg answered with a six-run eighth inning to put the game away.

Jace Dunn delivered a huge performance, finishing with three hits, two home runs, and six RBI. Payten Shipman added a home run and two RBI, while Troy Daniels contributed a homer and scored three runs.

Graham Wike drove in two runs, and Brady Paul added two hits and an RBI as the Hurricanes once again showed depth throughout the lineup.

Series Takeaways

Louisburg's offense was the difference all weekend, scoring 38 runs across the three games while getting contributions from nearly every spot in the lineup.

Dunn, Olmedo, Paul, and Wright powered the Hurricanes offensively, while the pitching staff delivered key innings in game two and late in the series finale to secure the series win.

The Hurricanes return to action on Wednesday, April 8, hosting Wake Technical Community College at 4:00 p.m. at Frazier Field.

Louisburg will look to carry its offensive momentum into the midweek matchup.
