Hurricanes Surge Past Wake Tech with 11-Run Middle Innings
The Louisburg College baseball team used a pair of big innings to pull away from Wake Technical Community College, earning a 15–9 win at Frazier Field on Tuesday afternoon.
After falling behind early, the Hurricanes responded with relentless offense, scoring 11 runs across the sixth and eighth innings to take control of the game.
Slow Start, Strong Response
Wake Tech jumped out to a 4–0 lead through the first two innings, putting Louisburg on its heels early.
The Hurricanes began chipping away with a solo home run from Jace Dunn in the second and a solo shot from Connor Wright in the fourth to cut into the deficit.
Wake Tech extended the lead to 6–2 in the fifth, but that's when the momentum shifted.
Sixth Inning Turns the Game
Louisburg broke through in the sixth inning with a six-run rally to take its first lead of the game.
Troy Daniels delivered a two-RBI double to tie things up, and the Hurricanes kept the pressure on from there. Graham Wike added an RBI single, and Payten Shipman launched a two-run home run to cap the inning and give Louisburg a 10–6 advantage.

The Hurricanes finished with 18 hits and had production throughout the lineup:

Putting It Away

The Hurricanes exploded for five runs in the bottom of the eighth, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Dunn and a two-RBI single from Laurence, before Daniels added another RBI to extend the lead to 15–9.
On the Mound
Louisburg used a bullpen approach to secure the win.
Simon Martone earned the win in relief, working three innings and allowing just two runs (none earned). Anthony Dorner followed with three innings of relief, and Layton Babb closed the game with a scoreless ninth.
Despite allowing early runs, the Hurricanes' pitching staff settled in and limited damage late to preserve the victory.
