Hurricanes Outslug Wake Tech in 15–11 Win

The Louisburg College baseball team played its last home game of the series against Wake Technical Community College with a high-scoring 15–11 victory Wednesday afternoon at Frazier Field.

In a back-and-forth contest, the Hurricanes used a late offensive surge to pull away, scoring seven runs across the seventh and eighth innings to secure the win.

Early Back-and-Forth Battle

Wake Tech jumped out to a quick 3–0 lead in the first inning, but Louisburg responded immediately. Camden Wilson answered with a two-run home run to cut the deficit, and the Hurricanes continued to chip away, tying the game at 5–5 by the end of the third.

The visitors continued to apply pressure, building a 10–8 lead through six innings, setting the stage for a late Louisburg rally.

Fifth Inning Sparks Momentum

Louisburg got a big swing in the fifth when Jace Dunn launched a three-run home run, tying the game at 8–8 and shifting momentum back to the Hurricanes.

Seventh Inning Breaks It Open

The decisive moment came in the seventh inning when Louisburg exploded for four runs.

Reese File delivered the biggest hit of the day with a grand slam, turning a tight game into a 14–10 advantage and putting the Hurricanes firmly in control.

Stephen Williams earned the win in relief, tossing a scoreless inning. Brendan Chamberlain followed with 1.2 innings, and Layton Babb recorded the final out to close the game.

Despite allowing 11 runs, the Hurricanes' pitching staff limited damage late, giving the offense the chance to pull away.

Closing Out the Series

The Hurricanes added an insurance run in the eighth on a solo home run from Laurence, sealing the 15–11 victory and wrapping up the final home game of the Wake Tech series.
