Hurricanes Outlast Central Georgia Tech in Overtime Thriller, 42–35
CAYCE, S.C. – The Louisburg College football team delivered an instant classic on Saturday afternoon, defeating Central Georgia Technical College 42–35 in overtime.
The Hurricanes' offense came alive behind quarterback Jameson Prince, who accounted for 149 total yards — throwing for 84 and rushing for 65 with a touchdown. Prince spread the ball efficiently through the air, connecting with Quran Miller for two long scores, including a 62-yard strike that ignited the home crowd in the second half.
Louisburg finished with 556 yards of total offense, balancing 373 passing and 183 rushing yards. The ground game featured a steady mix, led by Da'Nija Scott with 42 yards and a touchdown, while Lindann Fleming added 22 tough yards on five carries.
Through the air, Miller's explosive day (4 receptions, 101 yards, 2 TDs) set the tone, while Dajuan Gibson (6 catches, 111 yards) and Rashid Jones (2 catches, 50 yards) gave the Hurricanes multiple threats downfield.
Kicker Jadon Moore was steady, connecting on a 32-yard field goal and both extra points, while also handling kickoff duties with precision.
Defensively, Louisburg forced turnovers and lived in the backfield, tallying eight sacks and an interception returned 83 yards by Trevyn Smith. Dominique Leona anchored the defense with a team-high 13 tackles and two sacks, while Ronnie Hooker, Cephas Pettis, and Jamorius Wilson each added key stops behind the line of scrimmage.
Louisburg's defensive front — highlighted by Letraskey Pressley, Keith Braddock, and DJ Bryant — disrupted plays all day, totaling 49 yards lost on sacks and keeping the Titans' offense under pressure.
After a back-and-forth battle that saw the Hurricanes score 23 points in the third quarter, the game went to overtime tied at 35. Louisburg's defense stood tall, forcing a turnover on downs to open the extra frame. Moments later, the Hurricanes punched in the winning score to seal the 42–35 victory.
The Hurricanes return home this weekend to host Myrtle Beach Prep on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Louisburg High School. The matchup marks Homecoming 2025 for the Hurricanes.
