Hurricanes Close Season with 42–10 Win at Brevard Futures
BREVARD, N.C. – The Louisburg College football team closed out its 2025 season in dominant fashion on Sunday afternoon, defeating Brevard College's "Futures" team 42–10.
The Hurricanes (6–4) finished the year on a high note, showcasing explosive offense, defensive depth, and playmaking ability across all three phases.
After spotting Brevard an early field goal, the Hurricanes stormed back with 42 unanswered points, punctuated by standout efforts from quarterback Jameson Prince, tight end Jabari Rone, and running backs Da'Nija Scott and Evan Garrett.
Prince threw two first-half touchdowns — a 13-yard swing pass to Scott and a strike over the middle to Rone — as Louisburg built a commanding 28–3 halftime lead. The Hurricanes' offense mixed quick throws, tempo, and power running to overwhelm Brevard's defense.
Backup quarterback Jon Bissonnette entered late in the first half and kept the momentum rolling, connecting with Quran Miller and Rone for red-zone scores. The Hurricanes' size and depth up front controlled the line of scrimmage, opening running lanes for Garrett, Lindann Fleming, and Jazear Griffin, who each moved the chains in the second half.
Louisburg's defense was equally dominant. Dominique Leonard, Steven Muin, and Malachi Jenkins led a relentless pass rush that forced multiple sacks and pressured both Brevard quarterbacks throughout the game. Tycorien Gist and Jamorius Wilson each came up with interceptions — including a highlight-reel, one-handed grab by Wilson that set up a short-field score early in the fourth quarter.
Receiver Rashid Jones delivered the knockout blow midway through the final period, taking a short pass 46 yards down the sideline for a touchdown.
"We wanted to finish strong, and our guys did exactly that," said Head Coach Quinderra Spellman. "Every group made plays — offense, defense, and special teams. It's a great way to close the season and send this team into the offseason with momentum."
Special teams were a steady presence all afternoon, led by kicker Jesse Viens, who went a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points, and punter Jason Carroll, who repeatedly flipped the field under pressure.
The victory capped a 6–4 season for the Hurricanes, who won their final four games of the season
