Eight Hurricanes Earn NJCAA Football All-America Honors
Louisburg, NC - Louisburg College football placed eight student-athletes on the 2025 NJCAA Division III Football All-America Teams, as selected by the NJCAA Football Committee, capping a 2025 season that featured national-level production on both sides of the ball.
The Hurricanes finished the 2025 season ranked 5th in the NJCAA polls with a 6–4 overall record, showing consistent growth on both sides of the ball while competing nationally across multiple regions. This marks 25 All-American selections under the leadership of head coach, Quinderra Spellman.
"These honors are earned, not given," said Coach Spellman. "Every one of these young men bought into our culture, worked relentlessly, and represented Louisburg College the right way. This recognition speaks to their commitment, their toughness, and the standard we've built in this program."
Jhalil Winfield – First Team All-America (Offensive Line)
A freshman starter up front, Jhalil Winfield earned First Team All-America recognition after anchoring an offensive line that helped Louisburg produce 2,553 passing yards and 1,589 rushing yards over 10 games .
Letrasky Pressley – First Team All-America (Linebacker)
Letrasky Pressley was one of the most productive defenders in NJCAA DIII, earning First Team All-America honors after leading the Hurricanes with 82 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks, plus an interception on the season .
Tycorien Gist – First Team All-America (Defensive Back)
A true takeaway threat, Tycorien Gist earned First Team All-America honors after totaling 7 interceptions for 119 return yards, while adding 33 tackles as a key piece of Louisburg's ball-hawking secondary .
Jabari Rone – Second Team All-America (Tight End)
Jabari Rone was named Second Team All-America after a strong season that included 27 catches for 323 yards and three touchdowns, providing a dependable target and a physical presence in the run game .
Keaton Braddock – Second Team All-America (Defensive Line)
A constant disruptor in the trenches, Keaton Braddock earned Second Team All-America honors after compiling 25 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks, helping set the tone for a defense that routinely won the line of scrimmage .
Joanue Morten-Berry – Second Team All-America (Defensive Back)
Joanue Morten-Berry was selected Second Team All-America after producing two interceptions returned for 120 yards, along with 26 tackles, providing range and playmaking ability on the back end .
Trevyn Smith – Second Team All-America (Defensive Back)
Trevyn Smith earned Second Team All-America recognition following a standout season with 66 tackles and five interceptions returned for 136 yards, consistently flipping field position and forcing offenses to account for him in coverage .
Kamal Thames – Honorable Mention All-America (Defensive Back)
A steady, high-impact defender, Kamal Thames earned Honorable Mention All-America honors after totaling 37 tackles and adding 10 pass breakups, helping Louisburg's secondary remain one of the most disruptive units in the NJCAA .
The eight All-America selections mark one of the most successful individual award seasons in program history and reflect the continued growth of Hurricanes football under Spellman's leadership. With a foundation built on physical play, accountability, and development, Louisburg College looks to build on the momentum of the 2025 campaign as the program continues to establish itself on the national stage.
