LC Athletic Hall of Fame Adds Six

LOUISBURG, NC – The Louisburg College Department of Athletics is proud to release the names of four former student-athletes and two coaches who make up the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2013.

Wayne Benton and current Hurricanes Athletic Director Mike Holloman '83, both of Louisburg, NC, were honored for their time roaming the sidelines with the men's and women's basketball programs, respectively. Don Fish '60 (Raleigh, NC), Russell Davis '74 (Greensboro, NC), and Leora Sam Jones '80 (Raleigh, NC) were recognized for their time on the court as outstanding basketball players. Don Fish was also recognized for his contributions as a fundraiser for the athletics department and as a former trustee of Louisburg College.

Pete Eyer '67 (Delaware, OH) received his Hall of Fame honor for his time on the mound with the Louisburg College baseball team. While at Louisburg, Eyer was a two-sport athlete who also spent time on the court with the Louisburg basketball team.

The six 2013 inductees will join the 15 current members of the Athletic Hall of Fame, who were honored at ceremonies in 2007 and 2010. The 2013 class was officially welcomed into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 27th at a midday ceremony that took place on the Louisburg College campus.
