D1 Bound
LOUISBURG, NC – A pair of Hurricanes men's basketball players will be taking their talents to the NCAA Division I Big South Athletic Conference as Miles Bowman and Marcus Freeman will be taking their games to the next level.
Freeman (Williamston, NC), a two year standout for the Hurricanes, from Riverside High School will be attending Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. During his sophomore season at LC, Marcus was an All-Region X performer who finished the season averaging 12 points per game, ten rebounds per and three blocked shots. The numbers were good enough to finish in the top 20 in the NJCAA in rebounds, and top five in blocks.
Bowman came to Louisburg by way of Delaware State University. The Parkland High School (Winston Salem, North Carolina) graduate will be attending High Point University in High Point, North Carolina. Prior to a season ending injury, Miles too was on his way to an All-Region and All-American year. Through the first 12 games Bowman was averaging 20.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
Both student athletes are 2014 Louisburg College graduates.
