LOUISBURG, N.C. – The Louisburg College men's basketball team rebounded in emphatic fashion Wednesday night, rolling past Johnston Community College 90–58 inside Roger G. Taylor Arena to end a brief two-game slide and improve to 4–2 on the season.

From the opening tip, the Hurricanes took control. Sophomore forward Nehemiah McDonald set the tone with a thunderous baseline dunk on the first possession, and Louisburg never looked back. The Hurricanes opened the game on a 9–1 run and built a commanding 52–19 halftime lead, overwhelming the Jaguars with pace, pressure, and depth.

Redshirt sophomore Christian Hodges was the breakout performer of the night, scoring a season-high 20 points off the bench in just his second game back from injury. Hodges dominated the paint with physicality and energy, adding multiple offensive rebounds and a pair of emphatic slams that energized the home crowd.

Freshman guard Donovan Majette caught fire from deep, finishing with 19 points and three three-pointers, while Isaiah Smith added 16 points and led several transition sequences that fueled the Hurricanes' early surge. McDonald added 14 points and a highlight-reel lob dunk, and Julien Leveille chipped in 8 points off the bench.

Louisburg controlled every statistical category, forcing more than a dozen turnovers and holding the Jaguars to just 19 first-half points. The Hurricanes' aggressive rebounding effort—something Head Coach Brian Bagwell emphasized in recent practices—produced consistent second-chance opportunities that turned the game into a rout.

"This was the response we wanted," said Coach Bagwell. "We played with energy, shared the ball, and competed the entire forty minutes. Guys like Hodges and Majette stepped up, and our bench gave us a real spark."

The win moves Louisburg to 4–2 overall and 1–1 in Region 10 play, halting a brief skid after losses to Wake Tech and Catawba Valley.

The Hurricanes will now turn their focus to a challenging three-game road stretch, beginning Saturday, November 22, at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
