Canes Dominate on the Golf Course

LOUISBURG, NC – The Louisburg College golf team hosted the Louisburg Whirlwind Adventure, Tuesday afternoon, where sophomores Juan Fernandez (Panama City, Panama) and Ty Niday (Lexington, NC) tied with freshman golfer Sumner Tate (Raleigh, NC) with a low score of 79 at The River Golf & Country Club at Lake Royale. 

The Hurricanes scored 322 as a team and won by 35 strokes over Chowan University.  Freshmen, Zach Robins (Southern Shores, NC) turned in a card at 81, while Cal Addy (Newfield, NY) scored 83, with Devin Herring (Castila, NC) scoring an 89, and Clay Boerner (Stateboro, GA) rounding out the 'Canes efforts with a score of 97. 

With the tournament victory, Louisburg has achieved its first outright win of 2012, bettering their eight second place finishes, one third, and one fourth place finish this fall.

In the next outing, LC will participate in the Chowan University Fall Invitational at Valley Pine Country Club in Lasker, NC, Saturday, October 27.
