Hurricane Golf Recap From Myrtle Beach
The Hurricanes Golf Team competed in Myrtle Beach this weekend in two separate tournaments composed of five teams. On Saturday in the Arrowhead Intercollegiate, Louisburg finished in second place to Surry Community College. Overall, sophomore Evan Sauer (Raleigh, NC) wrapped up 6th place, freshman Patrick Yang (Maiden, NC) finished in 13th place, and one shot back sophomore Daniel Hammond (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) ended up in 14th place.
In the Wizard Intercollegiate on Sunday, the Hurricanes finished in third place to Surry Community College and The Apprentice School. With drastically improved scores, sophomore Evan Sauer completed the round with a 79 in a tie for 5th place, and two shots back freshman Patrick Yang finished in 8th place. Freshman Devin Herring (Castalia, NC) finished in 19th place, Daniel Hammond in 20th place, and sophomore Justin Stallings in 21st place.
The next outing will be hosted by the Hurricanes will be on Friday, March 20, at The River Golf & Country Club near Bunn, NC in the 11th Annual Hurricane UFO Dispute Intercollegiate. Teams from NY and SC will join with several from NC in the competition on March 20. On Saturday, March 21, at The River Golf & Country Club, the Hurricanes will host the 11th Annual 36-hole Hurricane Fusillade Challenge Modified Stableford Intercollegiate.
