Hurricane Golf Update

The Hurricane Golf team hosted the Hurricane UFO Dispute Medal Play Golf Tournament at The River Golf & Country Club on Friday, March 20.  In competition with 5 NJCAA teams from SC, NY, VA, and NC, the Hurricanes tied for fourth place.  The tournament was won by Spartanburg Methodist College with Patrick Henry CC placing second.  Devin Herring (Castalia, NC) placed 17th, Evan Sauer (Raleigh, NC) placed 21st, Patrick Yang (Maiden, NC) placed 26th, Justin Stallings (Louisburg, NC) placed 27th, and Chase Denton (Louisburg, NC) placed 32nd out of 33 competitors.

On Saturday, March 21, the Hurricanes hosted the Hurricane Fusillade Challenge Modified Stableford Golf Tournament at The River in Bunn, NC where the golfers used a completely different scoring format.  In that tournament Louisburg College finished in a close fourth place in a tight competition.  The tournament was won by Patrick Henry CC, followed by Surry CC, and Onondaga CC in 3rd place.  Devin Herring finished in 8th place, Evan Sauer in 14th, Patrick Yang in 16th, Justin Stallings in 20th, and Chase Denton in 22nd place out of 24 competitors.

The Hurricane men's golf team will travel to Jacksonville, NC later this week to compete in the three rounds composing the 45th Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Tournament with 30 other junior and senior colleges competing.  This prestigious tournament is open by invitation only to the best NCAA Division II and III (and all division NJCAA) golf teams in the nation.
