Lee Earns 100th Career Win

Eric Lee came to Louisburg College in the fall of 2017 as a former NCAA Division I and II assistant softball coach. Coach Lee took the reins for Louisburg softball, and though COVID-19 has tried to delay the achievement, the softball team has finally reached the milestone of 100 wins in his tenure.

In Coach Lee's first year leading the program, the team was 29-10. It was a challenging, but rewarding season because of everything the team overcame to be successful and win their first Region X title under him.

The second season began with a whole new roster with no expectations and big dreams. That year laid the groundwork for who Louisburg softball is now. The team made it to the NJCAA World Series (final 8) where they eventually lost to Kirkwood Community College. The Hurricanes finished 38-11.

In season three the Hurricanes were 16-1. That season was cut short by COVID, but the team continued to grow and build to make a big run to win it all.

So far this season the Hurricanes are 19-6. They boast the deepest most talented group with Coach Lee at the helm. He says that it is the most complete team he's had, and they have not shied away from a challenge--playing the toughest schedule in program history.

Coach Lee had many kids sign to NCAA Division I, II, and III softball programs; and 5 All-Americans in the last 4 years: Liv Garman (2018), Haleigh Joyner (2019), Sarah Hilton (2019), Mason Hedgecock (2019), and Mary Anna Clement (2019).

"I'm just thankful that Mike Holloman took a chance on an unproven coach and that the administration has been so supportive of everything that we have done here over the last four years," said Coach Lee. "I can't wait to see what the future holds."
