Hurricanes Split with Bryant & Stratton on Sophomore Day

LOUISBURG, NC — Louisburg College softball celebrated its sophomore class in between games Saturday, earning a split with Bryant & Stratton (VA) in a high-scoring doubleheader at home.

The Hurricanes rolled to a 15-7 win in the opener before falling 11-2 in game two.

Game 1: Louisburg 15, Bryant & Stratton (VA) 7
Louisburg's offense stayed hot early, scoring in four of the first six innings and breaking the game open with an eight-run fourth inning.

The Hurricanes jumped out quickly behind a three-run first and added two more in the second before the big fourth inning put the game out of reach.

Allie Boone led the way with a huge performance, going 3-for-4 with five RBIs, including a home run. Savannah Miller added two home runs and three RBIs, while Reece Pickett and Reah Lee also went deep.

Sarah Hess chipped in two RBIs, and Aubre Moore scored three runs as Louisburg totaled 14 hits in the win.

In the circle, Magen Daniels worked five innings, and Grace Arnold closed out the final frame to secure the victory.

Bryant & Stratton responded in game two, using early offense and timely hitting to take control.

After Louisburg tied the game at 2-2 in the first, Bryant & Stratton answered with a three-run second inning and continued to build its lead with runs in each of the next three frames.

The Hurricanes were limited to five hits, with Sarah Hess, Boone, and Savannah Miller each recording hits. Reece Pickett drove in the lone RBI, while the second run came on a passed ball.

Despite the loss, Louisburg honored its sophomore class between games, recognizing their contributions to the program and celebrating their careers in a special pregame ceremony.
