MARTINSVILLE, VA — The #2 seeded Lady 'Canes women's basketball team got things started with a bang at the 2013 Region X Tournament as they roughed up #7 seeded Wake Tech CC, 93-49, Friday night.

Justin Taylor (Gastonia, NC/Ashbrook HS) led all scorers with 22 points as she shot 9-14 from the field. The sophomore guard also led the 'Canes on the boards as she swiped eight rebounds. Jazmine Parker (Burlington, NC/Oak Ridge Military) finished just behind Taylor as she scored 21, on 7-13 shooting, in the tournament win.  

With the quarterfinal win the Lady 'Canes advance to play #3 seeded Lenoir CC, Saturday at 3:00 pm. LC took the two regular season games 80-53 and 65-57.

The winner will advance to the Region X Tournament championship game which will be played on Sunday.
