Volleyball completes the season sweep against Patrick & Henry

The Louisburg College volleyball team secured a decisive victory against Patrick & Henry Community College, winning 3-1 at home.

The match opened with Louisburg taking command immediately, clinching the first set 25-12. With a strong offensive performance and solid defense, the Hurricanes set the tone, showcasing their depth and strategy. Makaylah Simmons racked up 14 kills throughout the match, providing a vital spark for the team.

In the second set, Louisburg continued to build momentum, taking the set 25-19. Their cohesive teamwork and communication were evident as they expertly transitioned from defense to offense, with players like Ashia Teachy and Khori Viltz contributing significantly to the scoreline.

Patrick & Henry CC did not go down without a fight, battling back in the third set. They pushed Louisburg to their limits, showcasing resilience and grit. In a closely contested game, they edged out the Hurricanes 26-24, demonstrating their ability to capitalize on mistakes and rally together under pressure.

However, Louisburg rebounded fiercely in the fourth set. The team's defensive prowess shone through, particularly in the final moments, as they restricted Patrick & Henry?s scoring opportunities.

Overall, Louisburg College finished the match with a total of 62 points and impressive stats, including 26 kills, 37 assists, and a solid defensive effort that saw them record 77 digs. The team?s resilience and adaptability were key factors in their success.

Head Coach Jailynn Hunt praised her players for their performance, highlighting their ability to maintain focus and intensity throughout the match. "We showed a lot of heart tonight," she said. "Even when we faced some adversity, the girls rallied together and executed our game plan effectively."

The Hurricanes are back in action on Saturday, October 5th in a tri match held at Wake Tech. They will take on Lenoir CC at 1pm and Pitt CC at 3pm.
