Hurricanes Battle Hard but Fall to Pitt in Four Sets

Louisburg, N.C. — The Louisburg College volleyball team showed plenty of fight Tuesday night inside Roger Taylor Arena, but the Hurricanes came up short against Pitt Community College, dropping a 3–1 decision.

Pitt grabbed early momentum with a tight 25–22 win in the opening set. Louisburg traded points throughout, pulling even multiple times before the Bulldogs strung together the final push to edge ahead.

The visitors extended their lead in Set 2, using a long scoring run to pull away 25–15 and take control of the match.

The Hurricanes refused to go quietly, however. Behind strong energy from the home crowd, Louisburg rallied in Set 3. The Canes held firm late, pulling out a 25–21 victory to cut the deficit to 2–1 and keep the match alive.

Set 4 saw both sides exchange runs early, but Pitt regrouped down the stretch and closed the door with a 25–19 win to clinch the match.

With the result, Louisburg moves to 2-3 on the season. The Hurricanes will be back in action on Saturday for the Hurricane Tri-Match starting at 11am.
