Louisburg Volleyball Sweeps Patrick & Henry at Home
Louisburg, N.C. – Louisburg College volleyball continued its strong start to the season with a straight-set victory over Patrick & Henry Community College on Tuesday night inside Roger Taylor Arena. The Hurricanes rolled to a 3–0 win by scores of 25–16, 25–17, and 25–17.
Louisburg improved to 5–4 overall and 1–2 in Region 10 after delivering one of its most efficient offensive performances of the year, hitting .462 as a team while tallying 38 kills on just 65 attempts.
Sophomore Ashia Teachy powered the attack with nine kills on 11 swings for a .727 hitting percentage, while also contributing three aces and two blocks to finish with 13 points. Freshman Valery Bravo matched that total, notching 10 kills, two aces, and two blocks.
Naomi Chester turned in a strong two-way performance with eight kills and a team-high 13 digs, and setter Jayleen Barco Cruz orchestrated the offense with 23 assists to go along with four kills and two service aces. Isabella Thigpen anchored the defense with seven digs and added a key block.
The Hurricanes controlled each set from start to finish, opening the match with an 11-kill first set before closing the night with a dominant .619 hitting performance in the third frame.
Louisburg will be back in action on Saturday, September 27, when the Hurricanes head to Wake Tech's North Campus for a Region 10 tri-match. LC will face Forsyth Tech CC at 2:00 p.m. before taking on Wake Tech CC at 4:00 p.m.
